In 2024, Tänndalen decided to implement the OKR framework to create clearer goal alignment and boost engagement across the organization. With support from Noxit, they have established a structured approach that connects long-term strategy with concrete and measurable outcomes.

From PowerPoint to structured goal setting in Noxit

Before Tänndalen started using Noxit, their goal management was handled in PowerPoint – a method that proved difficult to maintain and lacked the flexibility their operations required. By transitioning to Noxit, they gained a clear structure and an efficient way to follow up on their goals.

          We initially tried working in PowerPoint, but it quickly became too difficult to maintain. We’re very glad we made the switch to Noxit – now we have a structure that simply wouldn’t have been possible to sustain in PowerPoint.

Adapted OKRs to the organization’s seasonal focus

Unlike the traditional OKR model, Tänndalen chose to adapt the framework to the seasonal variations of their business. They define two primary focus periods:

Winter focus

Summer focus

Planned separately and tailored to the specific operations during that period.

Each focus period includes a set of activities that teams work on weekly or biweekly. To ensure alignment, six stand-ups are held each season, where team members share updates and progress.

Increased awareness and engagement

One of the most notable outcomes of Tänndalen’s work with Noxit was the increased awareness of organizational goals. In less than a quarter, their internal awareness index rose from 3.9 to 4.5 in the employee survey.

          I was initially concerned that OKRs would be too theoretical and abstract, but with Noxit, we’ve become truly action-oriented and aligned around a common direction. What really surprised me was how quickly it made an impact — our employee engagement score jumped from 3.9 to 4.5 in less than a quarter. I’d confidently say that’s thanks to Noxit.
